So it is very important for pregnant women to consult a doctor to prevent the disease. Some preventive measures which can be taken are as follows:
- Do not take heavy medication to cure anemia without a doctor’s prescription, as it can lead to side effects in your body. If you notice anemic symptoms, then consult a doctor and take the prescribed dose.
- Ensure you go for a routine check-up and blood test to know if you are dealing with anemia. If it is observed in the early stages, then it can be easily treated.
- Take a healthy diet which includes iron. As iron can be hard to digest for some women, you can take vitamin C for easy digestion.
- Reduce the consumption of unhealthy beverages such as tea and coffee.
- If you experience bleeding during pregnancy , then surgical intervention might be necessary.
