When someone has this type of diabetes, the body does a very bad job in turning the carbohydrates in food to energy. This eventually leads to sugar getting piled up in the blood. - Increased thirst : No matter the weather, even after drinking sufficient water, one would still remain thirsty.
- Forever Hungry: One of the most common warning sign is hunger. The person would continue to feel hungry even after a full meal.
- Urination: The tendency to urinate very often is yet another sign. Many have reported peeing as often as every hour. Also, they are also susceptible to a lot in infections, more so urine infections.
- Fatigue: No matter how nourished the person is, they tend to feel tired and have very low energy to execute any task.
- Healing takes time: This is probably the best warning sign that should make one take up a blood test immediately. Any cut or sores take a long time to heal.
- Family history: Learn if you have a history of diabetes running in your family. If the answer is yes, then you should be checking your blood sugar levels on a very regular basis.
