You could get free laptops from many non-profit organizations in the country. The government and non-profit organizations have certain criteria for determining who could be in need of a laptop.

The On It Foundation seeks to bridge the technological gap by providing free computers to disadvantaged students of K-12 with low family income and who attend public schools in the country. The On It Foundation receives surplus computers as a donation from organizations and individuals, which is later upgraded by the best engineers. These fully equipped computers are then distributed to students based on availability.

Like the other programs, this also offers free laptops to people of many states within the country. People who earn an annual income of no more than $45,000 are eligible to get this free of cost or affordable laptops.
EveryoneOn
Like SmartRiverSide, the EveryoneOn program is also available in many states; however, on the contrary, this program is available only to those families who earn a yearly income below $35,000. They don’t provide free laptops all the time but refurbish them and sell them at a low price. They also provide free courses and the cheap internet packages to low-income families.
The World Computer Exchange
The World Computer Exchange has over 10 chapters in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Puerto Rico; these chapters are nothing but their team of volunteers who work extensively to collect computers and load them with educational content. Their mission is to provide free government laptops to the needy.
Computer Technology Assistance Corps
This organization offers grants for laptops to low-income families. Moreover, there are similar organizations like the SmartRiverSide and Goodwill that also support low-income individuals to get a free government laptop. These organizations have tie-ups with the government and technology-related businesses to provide free laptops to low-income families.
